ABOUT ME

I am a Project Manager currently based in Leeds. I started my career in the recruitment industry back in 2010 specialising in the placement of Test professionals into roles in the Banking and Financial Services sector in the City in London. In 2015 I moved into an in-house recruitment role for Close Brothers as an IT Resourcing Partner initially on a 6 month FTC, and was soon promoted to a permanent IT Recruitment Business Partner following a number of successful IT placements in the Bank.

It was here that I got my break into Project Management. After 18 good months at Close Brothers, and 6 great years in London I decided it was time to get on to the property ladder, so I made the decision to relocate to Leeds. Accosting my then boss at the work summer party, I proposed the move. Luckily he agreed and off I went doing my job remotely from my new house in Leeds, and also from the Close Brothers Motor Finance office in Doncaster. I loved my job but genuinely felt like I’d gotten everything out of recruitment that I could. I was looking for something new.

The great thing about being a Recruitment Business Partner is that you meet a variety of Managers across the business, and it was in Doncaster that I met my next boss, Mike. Mike was Head of the Change at CBMF and was recruiting for a Junior Project Manager, and I jumped at the opportunity to apply. A few rounds of interviews and some fairly heavyweight aptitude testing later, I got the job!

4 years later I now specialise in IT Project Management, IT software delivery and IT software implementations. I have Project Management experience gained in the Banking and Financial Services sector, and most recently as part of a Professional Services team in a tech software house.

I’m a certified Scrum Master through Scrum Alliance, and I’m CAPM certified through PMI. I’m currently studying for the PMP examination (no easy feat.)

Outside of work, my interests include spinning (the cycling kind,) spending time with family and friends, holidays, music, day festivals, binge worthy TV, food and drink, and cooking.
